. He is as raw as they come as a prospect, his film leaves much to be desired, and his numbers are not impressive. Therefore, for this Superflex rookie mock draft, we used Neal Driscoll's Mock Draft 3.0 to provide landing spots for the rookies. All videos are made with the intent of promoting College Athletics. So, here we take the youngest QB in this years draft, the freakishly-athletic Richardson and will watch him raise the bar for the modern fantasy quarterback. Is it fun every single time? Analysis: Evans is the projection personified. Id have looked for RB shots here. After a modest first half of 2022, a high ankle sprain cost him the rest of the year. Young is a magician in the pocket; when a play breaks down and requires improvisation, Young is among the best youll ever see. Two of the first three running backs drafted are from the same school, and its not Alabama! 2.08- Tyjae Spears, RB, Tulane With the second-shortest arms in the class, Washington profiles as a slot receiver who could get on the field but doesnt project much fantasy upside. And, sure, his closest PlayerProfiler comp is Johnny Manziel. Once you get past Round 1, there are few sure things. However, it sounds like he may have an uphill battle to make the team, so this pick looks like a possible waste of a pick. From sleepers to potential busts, they cover all the angles to help you make the most informed decisions on draft day. Only 1 QB came off the board in the 1st-round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He's 6'3" and 200-pounds with good speed, and runs crisp routes. Analysis: The end of the first round is a great spot to snag Addison as he is a popular choice as the classs No. 2.06- Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee His highlight reels are fun to watch. When looking at everyones final teams from this superflex draft, there are certainly a few that really stand out to me. My own pick at 3.03 of Zamir White really felt like a no-brainer. Most teams picking 1.01 are probably not a Bijan away from contending; there is a reason they are picking 1.01. Additionally, he produced a massive 34.1-percent (94th-percentile) College Dominator Rating and a 15.8 (86th-percentile) College YPR. I like this pick. Sure. Nice pick! Some players were blocked in depth charts. Chris Olave was also considered. Rationale: Id look for someone with better odds to see NFL playing time. Rationale: Downs is a projection at his size, but if hes selected early enough in the NFL draft, his team will devise a scheme to get him the ball. Best Pick: Rashee Rice 3.03 Unsurprisingly, Bijan Robinson went first overall and he was followed by three straight quarterbacks. Charbonnet is a good athlete who packs some punch with his 214-pound frame. Rationale: Hes a good, big target that catches near 70-percent of his targets. But his 29 vertical was atrocious. C.J. Ibrahim has the former so might be worth a flyer. Oh, wait, that comp makes me give serious consideration to Levis here! Gibbs will be knocked by some for being undersized, weighing in just under 200 pounds, but his athleticism makes him a home run threat every time he touches the ball. Analysis: Tank Bigsby is another RB with more upside than Evans. On April 12, PlayerProfilers Mock Draft Live team conducted a five round 2023 Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft SuperFlex/Tight End Premium on Sleeper. His 97th-percentile College Target Share and short targets masked an uninspiring 80.2 (13th-percentile) Speed Score. This is our first look at a superflex rookie mock draft for August 2022. If youre picking 1.01, you need to maximize the value of that asset, whether it is just taking Bijan or trading the pick. If that happens, take the QB discount and come back later for nearly-comparable receivers and backs in the second and beyond. The only notable difference is that Charbonnet had no Robinson in front of him so saw twice the workload. Even the players who rise to the top usually dont have longevity, Todd Gurley and LeVeon Bell being recent examples. Its time for considering floor versus upside. So, we take the names we know and the guys we can picture getting a chance even if its a longshot. Check out FFPCs dynasty orphansand use promo codeNERDSto receive $25 off your first buy-in (new users only). Analysis: Drafting Vaughn here is too much. I can stream production close to a borderline starter, so having that type of floor is of no importance. See where Young landed in our recent superflex rookie mock draft. With Josh Allens recent NFL success after being an unaccomplished, trait-driven first-round selection, the faster SEC version in Richardson will hold some serious Dynasty value for the foreseeable future. His best comp of Trace McSorley, though, tells all you need to know. But he managed a 92nd-percentile College Target Share and was a red-zone monster despite being just 5-8 and 165 pounds. 1.06- Will Levis, QB, Kentucky Cedric Tilliman, WR, Tennessee6. A slightly bigger and faster Zach Evans, he exploded on the college scene in 2022 with 1,431 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns. All finished top-9 in fantasy scoring. Stroud is actually my QB1 in this class, at least before landing spot, but it's not hard to make an argument for any of these three. With the injury to Christian Watson, it was interesting to see him drafted at 1.09. Rationale: Though already 23 years old, he did enough at Illinois and the combine to get a shot in the NFL. 3 in NCAA TE receiving yards was impressive given that opponents knew the Irish had literally no one else to throw to. He has a nose for the end zone as hes posted at least one rushing TD in every game in 2022. Jordan Addison, WR, USC9. So why does Johnston slip to the second in some drafts? That should create mismatches all over the field. Thats okay for the NFL. Howell doesnt appear to have a direct path to snaps currently, but after his preseason debut it feels like he might get his shot sooner rather than later. Hes got size, speed, burst, agility and an 84th-percentile Catch Radius. Analysis: The QB run ended almost as quickly as it started! 201 Winners & Losers of the 2023 NFL Draft, Ep. 3.05- DeWayne McBride, RB, UAB 5.01 Calvin Austin III @TheFFPresident. If he were bigger, folks would be talking up his impressive speed and his 647 rushing yards. Zach Charbonnet, RB, UCLA11. The odds are against hitting big on a Round 4 rookie pick are low. Prince was not involved in the pass game so we dont know what he might do given the chance. Dont let the TCU helmet fool you; this is not Josh Doctson or Jalen Reagor. While he caught his fair share of passes as a senior, he only once saw more than 60 carries in a season. Unlike Stroud and Young, Richardson isnt accomplished or experienced as a college player starting only 13 games in college. Rationale: TEs can be late bloomers, so this late hes worth a flyer to see if his athleticism plays out. Stroud. Analysis: Not a great athlete and never got downfield. Analysis: Thompson-Robinson is a decent athlete who posted decent passing numbers and won his share of games in his five-year career at UCLA. Richardson is the most athletic QB prospect ever, literally. 12 and took Boyd, and I like his upside landing in Cincinnati. He is highly accurate and has the arm strength to make every NFL throw. He was a very nice college football player. Pickens is looking great in Steelers camp by all accounts, but we have not been seeing him go ahead of Moore much. Though not especially fast or strong, Spears posted a 6.9 (91st-percentile) College YPC. The late third/early fourth round is a great spot to take a shot on a QB. Analysis: Kuntz is certainly big enough and boasts one of the greatest athletic profiles youll ever see at TE. He could lead all quarterbacks in rushing his first year as a starter and it would not be a shock to anyone. Rationale: Are you willing to wait for a QBs first extended NFL playing time to come in 2024 at age 27? But then 2022 came and that Boutte seemed to disappear. Yes, even in a Superflex league. Superflex Dynasty Rookie Rankings. 2017. Learn more. Its an open question, though, if hes a great football player or just a great athlete. By Round 3, were looking for upside with some likelihood of earning playing time. Analysis: Though Chase is not particularly big, he sure carried the load. Our experts break down the best strategies for . It doesnt matter. They were the best players on the board at the time according to my rankings. In one-quarterback leagues I have often said that I do not really care about a quarterback's floor. He's behind both the running backs (Hall and Walker) and the Tier 1 receivers. Herms: Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas Herms' analysis: The standard argument against Robinson being the 1.01 in superflex is that teams who finished in last place are unlikely to compete for a title soon enough to justify an RB this high. Much of this is dependent on the assumption that these four QBs are selected in the top-5 of the NFL Draft. Unless Im set at WR, though, Id favor one of the remaing higher-tier receivers like Jordan Addison or Quentin Johnston. put up a 2nd percentile burst score 2nd percentile! Rationale: Maybe an NFL team will give him a roster spot, and hell eventually get a shot. He has the tools NFL teams and fantasy managers like to see, but he is a project requiring some patience. He put up the occasional big game. The ever-so-slightest pause is the extra 15 pounds that Kamara carries. This QB class currently looks very underwhelming, and that is evidenced by only one quarterback going in the first 24 picks of a superflex draft. If so, Hookers worth a third round fantasy pick here. Giddy up! I picked at No. It was surprising that he didnt convert his 100th-percentile speed at 6-4 and 221 pounds into more than 10.9 yards a catch. This is about the range I would expect to start considering him myself. His film isnt impressive either, and there is a ton of development that still needs to happen for Richardson to be a successful NFL QB. 2. Sure, Georgia had plenty of other options, but he should at least have been unstoppable in the red zone. Only one more will be selected before the fifth round. Computer selections are filtered out, and only human selections are considered. Coming into the 2022 season, he was a preseason 1st team All-American but f. inished with only 538 receiving yards in 11 games. I would have likely taken Dameon Pierce over him if both were on the board. 1 overall pick and Docston, Coleman and Treadwell the next three . Rationale: Since hell likely get limited touches, hell be a great play in best ball but tough to project week-to-week in seasonal leagues. Sign me up! In the third round, what more do you want than an 80th-percentile across the board athlete who, while not big, is big enough to get on the field, carried a heavy college workload, and boasts a 97th-percentile College Target Share? But playing college slot doesnt carry the stigma it used to. Addison runs through a five round rookie mock draft in a superflex league, but this time his picks are taken from a REAL viewer's rookie draft and league. The. Hes also as solid a passer as youre going to find with an 89.7 (96th-percentile) College QBR and 9.8 (93rd-percentile) College YPA. Gibbs is unlikely a three-down back in the NFL but has the potential to be an excellent fantasy asset due to his fantasy-centric skillset. Rationale: Kincaid fits the new undersized pass-catching TE archetype with a best comparable player of Isaiah Likely. His Zach Pascal PlayerProfiler comparison is what fantasy owners should expect. He faced off-field questions and his combine performance was middling-to-poor. His NFL-ready arm and prototypical size make him the safest bet of the QB crop. That would be pretty sweet. He wrapped up his final college season on a tear averaging 25 carries a game and 195 yards against Cincinnati, Central Florida, and USC. 2.05- Tank Bigsby, RB, Auburn 1.01- Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas For in-season advice, use our rankings to find out Who should I start? The -103 rushing yards he posted last year wont do. I ended up going with London because I feel like he is the safest prospect of this group. Hes got a chance to get on a field and is a decent choice among the late-round QBs. He missed almost the entirety of the 2022 season but dominated college football in 2021 with a 95-1606-9 receiving line. Hes an okay pick here. Even still, Young put up 8,200 passing yards at almost nine yards per attempt with 79 touchdowns against only 12 picks in his final two seasons in the SEC. Though his 60-percent catch rate was just middling, he is expected to be an early NFL pick and thus earn a steady role even if its just as a complement to an NFL teams WR1. No, his 4.49 40 yard dash doesnt play up at his mighty-mite size. It's part of the one-of-a-kind Premium Membership! fantasy managers might strike gold here, too. Flowers, rising up draft boards and coming off a 1,077-yard, 12 touchdown senior season at Boston College is not especially big or fast. And dont worry about the TCU WR history books odds are Johnston is no Josh Doctson or Jalen Reagor. Analysis: This is the kind of pick I like late in the fourth. Rationale: As such a good blocker, in the NFL, he might once again not be asked to do much of what fantasy owners care about. His market value over the rest of the field is apparent in early 2023 startups, where he is regularly drafted as the top rookie and the overall RB1. Johnston is a big-bodied athlete that looks like a man amongst boys.
